Hyperion

Z3025-10

Z3025 is a medium size outrunner, 30mm stator diameter with a very nice and exlusive design. Setups up to 4s Lipo 400w is no problem, good for aerobatic/3D planes spinning 14" prop on 3s Lipo, or a hot setup in hotliner, 12x8" CAM prop and 4s 20c Lipo. I do not recomend to use the APCE props on setups over 4s Lipo, they are not strong enough.

The extra long bearing tube makes spacing between the two bearings, this provides extra support to the outer rotor. Motors without this feature tend to develop high-frequency vibration on high load, and makes the magnets and ball bearings wear, there will be an efficiency gain under load thanks to this "long" nose suport.

On pic the Z3025 and the actro CL, two simular motors with simular design, longer nose for bearing suport, and very good self cooling, the actro have higher max efficiency but also higher price.

 Performance measurements (more soon)
12x8" AeronautCAM 9,5v 37A 7470rpm 351w
12x6"E 13,4v 35A 8530rpm 469w
14x7"RASA 9,19v 45,9A 6780rpm 421w

Motor have been puched up to 1000watt 12000 rpm witout any  vibration problem, trotteling with the Jeti advance controller is realy fast with smoth start up, the Titan 80A controller gives same rpm and amp but has slower trotteling response, best setups on the se controllers is Jeti: hard timing, Titan: hard timing, soft start.

Motor have nice desig and put togheter with high quality parts, this is the best i have seen in quality on a motor that are produced outside Germany.  there is no rust or damage on the stator as i often notice on motors when taken them apart, high quality Japan NMB ball berings, stator plates done by CNC, rounded magnets and balanced casing. This Z3025 motor doas not have as good and high copper fill as the Z40 motors i have seen.

Magnets retained by fingers in the bell-end, the housing are perfectly balanced.

Cooling holes on casing, rounded magnets that are glued direct to the casing suported by "fingers" in the back plate, nice design with big cooling inletts and outletts, this motor runns smoth and cool! there was no need to messure any temp during the tests, this motor stayed cool.

The one big downside of the Hyperion motors are that there is no efficiency data avalibul from the manufactor, one could ask why!?!? Nice motors as the Hyperion should have efficiency graphs from Dyno tests, so one could setup the perfect powersystem for the motor. Lets hope we get this in future. Maxim efficiency of this motor i think is araound 80%, the good thing is that it doasent drop very much in efficiency when starting to push it.

With the motor and Hyperion controller i have also tested the 16c Hyperion Lipo 5s2p 4200mAh battery, 16c continuos and 20c burst power gives this motor high power to weight, on 3-4s setup it can easely drive a large and efficient 13-14"" prop that fitts good on aerobatic/3D modells.

On 53Amp load the Hyperion 5s2p Lipo holds 3,47v/cell with no danger in heat, battery are but togheter nicely with simular quality as the Polyquest battery packs.
